I just tried this new Wagyu beef tallow and it’s absolutely amazing!
The quality is outstanding. Tastes and feels like a natural, premium product. It doesn’t leave my food greasy like other cooking fats often do and it adds a rich, delicious flavor to everything I’ve made with it so far.
From now on, it’s definitely my go-to for cooking.

I just tried it for the first time and am pretty happy. The best thing is there’s much less smoke in my condo when I cooked.

This Wagyu Beef Tallow made a huge a difference in the flavour and quality of my cooking! Compared to other cooking oils it adds a rich flavour without overpowering other ingredients.
It’s super smooth and melts down quickly! I love that it’s a natural fat which makes cooking more fun.
I highly recommend this product to everyone who enjoys home cooked meals with a more flavourful taste than just olive oil or butter.

Tried something different this time. Spread some tallow on my steaks after pulling them out of the sous vide and torched them for an amazing sear 🔥

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Wagyu beef tallow?

Wagyu beef tallow is the rendered fat from premium Wagyu cattle, known for their high marbling and superior fat quality. It is a cooking fat, prized for its rich flavour, high smoke point, smooth texture and nutrient-rich profile. Learn more on our blog →

What makes Wagyu tallow different from regular grass-fed tallow?

Wagyu beef tallow is significantly higher in heart-healthy monounsaturated fats, particularly oleic acid, that lowers bad cholesterol, making it softer, more flavourful, and cleaner on the palate. It also has a richer texture and performs better in both cooking and absorption. Full breakdown on our blog →

What are the health benefits of using Wagyu tallow?

These nutrients in Wagyu tallow work together to support heart health, reduce inflammation, improve cognitive function, and promote hormone balance.

Vitamins A, D, E, and K in Wagyu tallow are essential for strong immunity, bone health, skin vitality, and vision. Unlike heavily processed seed oils, tallow is stable at high heat and free from harmful compounds, making it a cleaner and more ancestral source of energy your body can recognize and use efficiently. Regular use of high-quality tallow can contribute to better metabolic health, steadier energy levels, and overall wellness.

Any tips for first time use?

Start by replacing your usual cooking oil or butter with Wagyu beef tallow in any dish. It’s especially good for eggs, veggies, and meat. A little goes a long way thanks to its rich flavor. For inspiration, check out some recipes on our blog here →

How should I store my tallow?

Store in a cool, dry place with the lid tightly sealed. For longer shelf life or in warmer climates, refrigeration is recommended. Avoid moisture or cross-contamination.
Tallow naturally resists spoilage thanks to its stable fat composition. Store at room temperature for a smoother consistency that is easier to scoop.

Tip: Always use a dry, clean utensil to scoop out the tallow to prevent contamination and spoilage.

What is the shelf life?

Unopened jars can last up to 12 months from production date in a cool pantry. Once opened, we recommend using it within 4-6 months for optimum freshness. Refrigeration can extend shelf life from 12 months up to 18 months.

Is oil separation normal in Wagyu beef tallow?

Yes, it’s completely normal and expected. Wagyu beef tallow in particular is higher in healthy monounsaturated fats, which can cause natural oil separation or a soft, runny texture. Just stir it gently with a clean, dry utensil to blend the layers. In warmer climates, it may become more liquid. You can use it as-is for easier scooping or refrigerate to firm it up.

Can I use Wagyu tallow for high heat cooking?

Absolutely. This is where tallow excels at. Wagyu tallow has a very high smoke point (~420°F), making it ideal for searing, frying, roasting, and sautéing without breaking down or burning. It handles heat better than most cooking oils.

Where is Prime Renders tallow made?

All of our tallow is proudly sourced, rendered and packaged in BC, Canada, using fat from premium full-blood Japanese Wagyu cattle raised right here on the pristine pastures of BC, Canada.
The tallow is slow-rendered in small batches with zero additives or fillers. We work with trusted local partners to ensure everything meets our uncompromising standards for purity, quality, and craftsmanship.
